After a day at work that consisted of chaperoning and shuttling high school boys to and from the Farm Show site, developing a migraine while working outside in the high humidity and 100+ degree temps, and then ending the day painting booth lines on the ground in the poring rain, I was tired, and smelly to say the least.
During the month of July I’m working 7 days a week in order to get ready for the Four State Farm Show, so everyday feels like a Monday for the time being, and my social life is waiting patiently for me to return sometime in August. Yesterday being no different, I planned on spending my Friday evening using my entire hot water tank for a shower, and then settling in front of the t.v. for a Adams Family movie marathon to match my “Cousin It” themed painted fingernails.
Somehow two hours after getting off work I found myself running down a dirt road in Kansas, camera in hand, chasing sunsets in my “Kiss me I’m a Cowboy” shirt, sweatpants, and flip-flops covered in fish, with nothing but soybean and corn fields for as far as I could see.
As “Achy Breaky Heart” blared from the radio of my Pontiac Vibe, it occurred to me that I lead a very random life, and you know what? I’m completely and totally, absolutely head-over-heels in love with it.
Here are some shots from my spontaneous Friday the 13th photo trip around Middle-of-Corn, KS.
Until next time…
